East End communities spotlighted in fight against oil pipeline (via Fountain’s Pen)

With Ken Fountain at the “Houston Frontline Tours” sponsored by t.e.j.a.s (Texas Environmental Justice Advocacy Services) and the Houston Sierra Club. Examining the potential impact Keystone XL Pipeline will have on the already environmentally devastated neibourhoods around the Houston Ship Channel.

As steam rose from the stacks of the nearby Valero refinery, environmental activists on Thursday described the dangers they say a proposed crude oil pipeline and its product pose to residents of east Houston’s Manchester neighborhood.
